Shincheonji Volunteer Group, Masan Branch, Conducts Hairdressing and Beauty Services
[Cheonji Ilbo, Gyeongnam = Reporter Seon-mi Lee] The Masan branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group (Director Chang-ho Seong) announced on the 18th that it had conducted hairdressing and beauty services for people with disabilities with the slogan 'Little Finger, Make Happy' in the outdoor plaza of Naeseo Culture and Sports Centre.
The event was organised for the purpose of breaking down barriers between people with and without disabilities, to unite hearts and reinforce the message that joy should follow people with disabilities in their every movement.
In addition to this volunteer campaign, volunteers also gifted beneficiaries with moss plants and a natural air freshener.
Soon-ja Hwang (pseudonym), who participated in the event, said, “Thank you for coming here. I feel good that you are carrying out these beauty services so well.” Volunteer Hee-young Park said, “I was apprehensive when I first began participating in the hairdressing and beauty services for today's guests.”
A branch official said, “Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we haven't been able to carry out much volunteer work,” and “It was touching to see the warm smiles of volunteers toiling despite the hot weather and to experience a warm welcome from our guests.”
The Masan branch is engaged in a variety of activities, such as blood donations in the local area, an environmental clean-up campaign, plant-sharing, mural painting and beauty services, and visits to senior citizens who live alone.
