Byung-gu Kim, President of Korean Senior Citizens Association, Daejeon-Seogu Branch, said, “Shincheonji Volunteer Group has always respected the spirit and value of volunteerism and has honoured the seniors through their act of filial piety towards the seniors.”

Jong-se Kang, Vice-director of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, Daejeon-Chungcheong Branch, who received the plaque of appreciation said, “As the foundation of faith is filial piety, it is only natural to always take care of seniors. We will do our best to fulfil our role.”

Shincheonji Volunteer Group donated 10 kg and 250 bags of rice to the Daejeon-Seogu branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association during the Chuseok holiday last year and also carried out COVID-19 prevention measures at the local senior citizens' centre. And since 2015, with a heart of filial piety for the elderly, Shincheonji Volunteer Group has held the annual 'Yongmun/Tanbang End-of-Year Celebration of Filial Piety' with residents of Yongmun-dong and Tanbang-dong senior citizens' centres.

The '26th Senior Citizens' Day' event was hosted by Daejeon Metropolitan Council Seo-gu Branch (Chairman Byung-gu Kim) of the Korea Senior Citizens' Association, with awards given to those displaying exemplary deeds in their respective fields for the welfare of senior citizens. Exciting dance and accordion performances were also given. Those in attendance included the Mayor of Seo-gu Chul-mo Seo, Seo-gu Council Chairman Myeong-ja Jeon, and district councillors.
