Following the success of the Shincheonji Bible Seminar on the Book of Revelation held in the Korean cities of Seoul, Busan, Daejeon, and Incheon with 1500 domestic pastors and 14,000 believers in attendance, Chairman Man-hee Lee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church of Jesus) has gone on to deliver a fifth in-person lecture in Gwangju.

On the 3rd June, about 500 pastors from various established denominations, including the Presbyterian Church, Methodist Church, and Full Gospel Church, attended the Shincheonji Bible Seminar held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Seo district, Gwangju City. There is a clear interest among Christian leaders in the biblical teachings delivered by Shincheonji. The Shincheonji Bible Seminar in Gwangju was specifically held at the request of pastors who were unable to attend previous seminars due to time and distance constraints. For this reason, a large number of pastors attended the seminar in Gwangju.

The Book of Revelation presents a challenge to the global religious community to understand - even among religious scholars and pastors - because of the figurative language in which it is written. Yet Chairman Lee testified the prophecies and fulfilled realities of every chapter from 1 - 22 effortlessly.

Chairman Lee, who gave a lecture that day, testified the Book of Revelation in detail from Revelation 1 to 22, including the actual realities of the fulfilment, which he saw and heard firsthand, to the churches.

Regarding the reason why the prophecies of the Book of Revelation and the fulfilled realities can be testified, Chairman Lee said, “There is no one who has fully mastered the Book of Revelation. No one speaks correctly about it. However, this person (I, Chairman Lee) knows not only the meaning of the words recorded in the Book of Revelation, but also the realities that have been fulfilled accordingly. This is because I have seen and heard its fulfilment.”

Chairman Lee emphasised that the time has come for all churches today to know the Book of Revelation, and repeatedly urged the audience to confirm the given testimony on the Book of Revelation according to the words of the Bible. Chairman Lee said, “What I want to ask of you is that, today, as chapters 1 to 22 are being testified and more than half of Revelation fulfilled, you please listen and pay attention to what is being said.” He said, “The conclusion is that God and heaven will come. In Revelation 21, if there is the first heaven and first earth, and if the God in heaven and the kingdom of heaven come, this world will become a really good world.”

He continued, “If you are a true believer, you must confirm who you are according to the Bible and whether you have been created according to the words of the Bible at this time. Because it is a matter of life and death, please do not ceaselessly slander someone as heretical but confirm for yourselves according to the words of the Bible. You will see that you have to be sealed and belong to the 12 tribes. If you add or subtract, you cannot go to heaven.”

In addition, he said, “I hope that we will humble ourselves and build others up, and possess faith that serves our neighbour. We should do this. If we forgive and love one another, and become one, even heaven will acknowledge it.”

Although it is difficult to openly attend events held by Shincheonji Church of Jesus due to the persecution by established denominations, a significant number of former and current pastors attended the Shincheonji Bible Seminar in Gwangju.

The pastors who listened to Chairman Lee's lecture, which testified not only to the prophecies of the Book of Revelation, but also to their fulfilled realities, were stunned. This is because it was something they had never learned before. They did not fail to hide their admiration for Chairman Lee's lecture.

Pastor Choi, who has served in the Presbyterian Church in Gwangju for 30 years, said, “I'm blown away by how effortlessly he can testify the Word.”

Pastor Lee, who served in the Presbyterian Church in Gwangju for 20 years, also expressed his feelings, saying, “It feels like my curiosity about the Book of Revelation has been resolved all at once.”

Pastor Kim, who has been pastoring in Gwangju for 30 years, said, “Seeing the Chairman right in front of me, I shed tears for some reason.” He continued, “I felt something when he said he couldn’t help but speak about it. I will also learn the prophecies and fulfilment of the Book of Revelation and try my best to convey it like the Chairman of Shincheonji.”

There was also a pastor who advised pastors who have not yet heard the words testified by Shincheonji Church of Jesus to check the authenticity of the words without bias.

Pastor Seung-woo Lee, who has been pastoring at the Abraham Missionary Society (Reformed Church) in Goheung for 23 years, said, “As I have been interpreting the law and the gospel in my own way, it was different (from Chairman Lee's lecture) to the testimony given based on what Chairman Lee saw and heard. Moving forwards, I want to learn the word taught by Shincheonji Church, cooperate and focus on gospel ministry with a higher level of spirituality.” At the same time, he expected, “I hope that I'll throw away all prejudice, be born again with the Word with an open heart and a heart that seeks to become one in the love of the Lord.”

Minister Park, who has been serving as an evangelist at the Full Gospel Church for about 30 years, said, “I was thrilled to hear about the hard work and hardships the Chairman went through in the process of God fulfilling the Bible.” He continued, “It is unfortunate that those who wander in Babylon do not know the words of the Book of Revelation,” and “I want to call out to them to come out of Babylon quickly.”

There were also pastors who had already heard the teachings from Shincheonji Church and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to have the word taught to their congregations. Pastor Yohan Lee (pseudonym), who has been pastoring in Daejeon for 40 years, said, “I signed an MOU with the strong recommendation of pastor associates who signed the MOU with Shincheonji and I am currently taking classes. I am very satisfied because I can properly convey it to the believers.”

Pastor Sang-deok Choi (pseudonym, 70s, male, Gwangju, South Jeolla Province), who has been pastoring for about 20 years, also said, “Since signing the MOU with Shincheonji Church, we have been gradually sharing the word based on the existing 5W1H method of preaching. I want to put up a church sign.” To the pastors, he said, “To obtain the kingdom of heaven and eternal life, you must know the Book of Revelation.”

Shincheonji Church is comprised of 12 tribes in Korea and overseas. In particular, there are 12 tribal headquarter churches nationwide in Korea, and the tribe based in Gwangju, South Jeolla Province, where the Bible Seminar was held, is in Peter tribe. Peter tribe has about 30,000 believers, mainly comprised of young people.

Meanwhile, pastors in Korea and overseas who have encountered the message from Shincheonji have been steadily requesting an MOU to have the word taught to their congregations since 2022, and as of the end of April this year, MOUs number about 6600 in 78 countries (250 in Korea). Among them, more than 5000 people are studying the words of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, and about 700 churches in 29 countries announced that they would preach the gospel by replacing existing church signage with Shincheonji.
