“After coming here to learn, my questions changed to Exclamations”, Pastor Response to Shincheonji Open Bible Seminar held at BEXCO in Busan
“If you add or subtract from the Book of Revelation, you cannot go to heaven. You yourself will know if you have added to or subtracted from the book of Revelation. The purpose of Revelation is to harvest, seal and create the 12 tribes at the time of the Second Coming of Jesus. If one is not harvested, then that person must be harvested, and that person must also be born of God's seed.”
Chairman Man-hee Lee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church of Jesus) made this appeal to the current and former Korean pastors who attended Shincheonji Church of Jesus' Open Bible Seminar on 'Testimony on the Fulfillment of Revelation' held in BEXCO, Busan on the afternoon of the 30th April.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus has been causing a sensation with its teachings on the Book of Revelation in the Christian church worldwide.
On the 22nd, about 500 pastors from the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon region attended the Open Bible Seminar held in Seoul, followed by around 400 pastors from various denominations from Busan, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk. About 10,000 people, including citizens, the media, and believers, also attended the open Bible seminars on the fulfilment of the Book of Revelation.
Before the event started, at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1, the testimonies of overseas pastors who signed an MOU with Shincheonji Church and the video of the 100,000 graduation ceremony were screened, drawing immediate attention.
Prior to the delivery of the Word, a performance and time of praise were held, and as Chairman Man-hee Lee entered the venue at 5pm, loud applause and cheers erupted.
After coming to the podium, Chairman Lee welcomed the pastors in attendance and gave a lecture on the topic of 'The Reality of the Fulfillment of Revelation'. Despite his advanced age, Chairman Lee spoke with a powerful tone, emphasising that today is the time for all churches to know the Book of Revelation.
He said to pastors, “When Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament, all the fulfilled realities appeared and Jesus testified to their reality. Similarly today, when the events recorded in the Book of Revelation are being fulfilled, the entities have appeared and are being testified.”
Chairman Lee said, “If you add to or subtract from the Book of Revelation, you cannot go to heaven.” He said, “The purpose of Revelation is to harvest, seal and create the 12 tribes at the time of the Second Coming of Jesus.”
He added, “If one is not harvested, then one must be harvested, and that person must be born of God’s seed. It is written that those who remain in the Church of Jesus are children of the devil,” and repeatedly emphasised, “I hope that you pray before God and have the right faith, rather than insisting that your faith is correct.”
In addition, Chairman Lee said, “Congregants faithfully serve the church with all their efforts and have faith. For the sake of these people, we must convey the correct testimony of the word.” He added, “We must understand the Book of Revelation perfectly, discern for ourselves and believe in it.”
The Open Bible Seminar was broadcast live on Shincheonji's official YouTube channel, and was broadcast in languages around the world for overseas attendees.
Pastors who attended the event delivered bursts of applause and admiration.
Mr. Seo (70, male), who identified himself as a former pastor, said that the current Korean Church needs reform. He said, “Today, Christianity in Korea is in decline, but we saw that Shincheonji produced more than 100,000 believers who graduated last year. I thought this is evidence that God is with them. This is the most important point that I wish to convey to fellow Christians.”
An incumbent pastor named Choi, who attended the seminar after recently signing an MOU with Shincheonji, said, “I encountered a lot of difficulty while studying and teaching the Bible because there were so many questions. There were questions about what this word meant and how to interpret this word, but as I came here and learned, those questions changed to exclamations. I realised, 'Ah, this is what it means.'”
He added, “I have lived a life of faith for more than 40 years and have lived a life as a pastor. I am so happy that I have finally come to know God’s purpose.”
Mr. Lee (75), an incumbent senior pastor, said, “Today's testimony was overwhelming. I feel relieved that 10 years of confusion has completely gone.” He said, “Looking at everything that has been done here in an orderly manner from beginning to end today, this really could not have happened without the direct work of God and Jesus. I truly believe that today was a masterpiece of choral harmony where God and the Lord were with us, believers.”
Shincheonji Church of Jesus produced 106,186 domestic and overseas graduates at an in-person graduation ceremony held in Daegu last year. It is the largest graduation by any single theological institution. Shincheonji Church of Jesus emphasises that it is possible only because God is with them.
Earlier, in 2020 and 2021, even amid the COVID-19 pandemic, online lectures were expanded to produce about 20,000 online graduates every year. In 2019, a total of 103,764 students completed the course, drawing attention from the church community.
