Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Chairman ManHee Lee), which churches and pastors in Korea and overseas regarded as a heresy, have gone beyond signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU), which is to have the word from Shincheonji taught to their respective congregations, and have changed their church signage to 'Shincheonji Church of Jesus'. This trend is increasing rapidly. The established churches, some of whom are a self-proclaimed 'orthodoxy' and branded Shincheonji Church of Jesus a so-called 'heresy', are now becoming one with Shincheonji.

According to the status of overseas MOU signing announced by the Overseas Mission Department of the General Assembly of Shincheonji Church, as of the end of May, there are over 7800 churches in 80 countries that have signed MOUs with Shincheonji Church, and the total membership of these churches exceeds 819,000. More than 1000 churches in 32 countries have replaced their signboards with Shincheonji Church. They are learning the Word through videos and materials provided by Shincheonji Church.

Specifically, John tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus has 1280 agreements (churches) in 26 countries, and the number of affiliated members is 182,477. Peter tribe has 467 agreements in 7 countries, and the number of members is 31,965. Busan James tribe has 1649 agreements in 5 countries, and the number of members is 108,118. Andrew tribe has 400 agreements in 12 countries, and the number of members is 99,003. There are 387 agreements in 18 countries, and the number of their members is 90,287. Philip tribe has 165 agreements in 10 countries, and the number of members is 39,535. Simon tribe has 239 agreements in 21 countries, and the number of members is 31,408. Bartholomew tribe has 47 agreements in 8 countries, and the number of members is 3620. Matthew tribe has 19 agreements in one country, and the number of members is 950. Matthias tribe has 2346 agreements in 6 countries, and the number of members is 199,371. Seoul James tribe is in one country, and the number of members is 30. Thomas tribe has 804 agreements in 4 countries, and the number of members is 32,299.

The overseas existing church signboard replacement status is 1087 churches in 32 countries, the number of affiliated pastors is 1268, and the number of affiliated members is 68,892. Replacing the sign signifies that the church has transferred its membership to Shincheonji Church. When the signboard of Shincheonji Church is replaced, members of that church learn the words of Shincheonji. After completing the Bible study course, one then becomes a member of Shincheonji Church.

How did this phenomenon come about? After the COVID-19 pandemic, churches belonging to the established denominations were unable to find an alternative solution as face-to-face worship was suspended, leading to an immediate decrease in respective membership. At general church meetings, although efforts were made to come up with countermeasures, they could not prevent the reality of declining church membership.

At the end of 2021, for the first time in history, Shincheonji Church taught on the prophecies and fulfilled realities of the Book of Revelation worldwide via YouTube. Pastors around the world who directly encountered the words of Shincheonji Church acknowledged that 'the words of Shincheonji Church are correct', which created a drive to "check the words". As a result, analysis shows that hundreds of churches around the world have signed agreements with Shincheonji and changed their signboards to Shincheonji.

An official from Shincheonji Church of Jesus emphasised, The 'Shincheonji craze' that is blowing around the world is now spreading to churches and pastors in Korea and is gaining sensational popularity.
