Shincheonji's Peter Tribe Conducts Emergency CPR Training to Develop Culture of Respect for Life

“Through CPR training, I realised the value of life and have become determined to help my family and fellow believers in emergency situations.”
To spread a culture of respect for life and safety, the Peter Tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, conducted CPR and airway obstruction response training at the Shincheonji Gwangju Church to nearly 400 congregants from seven regional churches on the 23rd August, and one of the saints who participated in the training said the above.
On that day, the training, led by a nurse from the Gwangju Public Health Department, consisted of theoretical instruction, centred around the 'golden time,' a teaching assistant demonstration, and individual practice in which participants focused on two hours of repetitive practice using chest compression animations, educational automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and Heimlich training animations, thereby increasing their proficiency for preparation for real-life experiences.
Another participant said, “I was surprised at how physically demanding CPR was,” and added, “I was able to get a feel for the actual situation by practising it over and over again.”
Meanwhile, according to data published by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, about 80% of cardiac arrest patients in Korea occur outside the hospital, and the survival rate is known to differ by 2-3 times depending on whether a bystander performs CPR. This training, therefore, goes beyond simple knowledge transfer, enabling participants to respond immediately and take necessary action in emergency situations.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus is sequentially expanding CPR training per tribe this year, with a view to expanding the training target from members to the general public.
