Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gyeyang Branch 'Hairdressing Service' for Senior Citizens
On July 11th, the Gyeyang branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group visited a senior centre in Gyeyang District, Incheon, and provided hairdressing services to senior residents. |
“We find fulfilment volunteering when we see the smiles on the faces of seniors."
An official of the Gyeyang branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group expressed the motivation behind the Gyeyang branch's visit to a senior centre in Incheon that provided hairdressing services to senior residents on the 11th July. This visit, which was purposed to maintain good hygiene and wellbeing during the hot summer months, marked the fifth of its kind.
On that day, hairdressers by profession or skill tidily styled the seniors' hair to suit their facial features and preferences and shared laughter and offered emotional comfort.
On that day, one senior citizen who had just had a haircut said, “My mind feels refreshed by my neat appearance,” and added, “Thank you for always visiting.”
Meanwhile, the hairdressing service is part of the nationwide ‘Beautiful Seniors’ programme of Shincheonji Volunteer Group which supports the happy and healthy retirement of those in older age in Korea.
