A Faith Revolution: Shincheonji Church's Weekly Revelation Exams Empower Believers

What if your church tested your understanding of Revelation every week?
At Shincheonji's Busan James Tribe, believers are transforming their faith through weekly Bible exams - turning knowledge into confidence, and belief into bold testimony.
While many churches focus on sermons and group study, one church in South Korea is transforming the way believers approach the Bible - through weekly Bible exams centred on the book of Revelation.
In particular, the Busan James Tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus is conducting an in-person "Sealing Verification Test" for all congregants, as directed by the Shincheonji General Assembly. The purpose of the test is to enable believers to become walking Bibles and "qualify them for heaven," in keeping with the General Assembly Chairman's vision.
At Shincheonji Church of Jesus, members take regular Bible tests to confirm their understanding and “sealing” in the Word. These exams are not about simple memorisation, but embodying and living the prophecies found in Revelation. The church teaches that adding or taking away from Revelation disqualifies one from heaven, based on Revelation 22:18–19, and takes that warning seriously.
The results are remarkable. From January to April 2025, Shincheonji members averaged 99 out of 100 on these tests, with 97% participation and 99.9% scoring above 90. In the Busan James Tribe alone, average scores reached 99%.
Testimonies from members speak to a deeper spiritual awakening. One Busan James Tribe youth member shared, “I often neglected studying the Bible when I was busy with my daily work, but I started studying to prepare for the exam,” and added, “Through the Bible, I came to know the heart of God and Jesus, and gained the strength to carry out my duty.”
Even pastors are noticing the difference. A Baptist pastor who served for 30 years said, “The Bible is one, so the key is to become one through the Word, rather than speaking and teaching according to each person's own thoughts.”
Shincheonji asserts that no one outside their church fully understands Revelation - because no one else has seen or heard Revelation's fulfilment. They challenge critics to prove otherwise, not with opinions but with Scripture.
This bold approach is fuelling a global wave of interest. Tens of thousands of pastors and believers have reached out, seeking to learn what Shincheonji teaches.
At its core, this movement isn't about tests - it's about transformation. Members are becoming “walking Bibles,” not just reading Scripture, but embodying it. The impact on their faith and daily lives is undeniable.
In an age when many avoid Revelation for its complexity, Shincheonji's approach is reviving the heart of biblical prophecy - and challenging the world to take another look.
