“It was a time to deeply reflect once again on the fact that we can live in peace now thanks to those who dedicated themselves to the country.”
Last June, in honour of Patriots and Veterans Month - and to raise awareness of the value of memorial facilities - the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Yongin branch conducted a clean-up activity at the Central Park Memorial Tower in Yongin City, South Korea, and an official from the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Yongin branch said this.
Every June, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group holds an event in regions nationwide called "Hyunchungbogam" (promoting patriotism), by highlighting valuable stories and the noble acts of those who served the nation. This initiative has been sharing the history and significance of hundreds of memorial sites throughout Korea.
Accordingly, on the 21st June 2025, 15 volunteers from the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Yongin branch paid their respects to the fallen, cleaned the memorial tower, picked up litter, and removed weeds to clean up the surrounding area.
One volunteer said, “I'm grateful I could participate in this meaningful service. I hope people today will gain a proper understanding of the Korean War.”
