Numerous branches of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group across South Korea continue to carry out environmental campaigns.

On 18th October, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Jinju Branch conducted an environmental clean-up activity to pick up litter abandoned along the Nam River and on the pavement and walkways during the 'Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival' in Jinju City, Republic of Korea. As the festival attracts numerous visitors and displays colourful lanterns, the importance of environmental clean-up activities was emphasised even more.

About 20 volunteers participated in the event, collecting litter around the festival site for approximately 4-5 hours. Volunteers collected approximately 200 litres of waste from the Namgang River and Jinjuseong Fortress areas, and by creating clean streets, they created a pleasant environment for citizens and tourists visiting the festival.

Through consistent volunteerism and education, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group in Jinju is showing that real change starts with small actions. For such areas, environmental cleanup is more than beautification - it helps prevent slips, falls, and other accidents.

Meanwhile, this activity was carried out as part of the 'Green Nature' environmental campaign that is purposed to leave a pristine natural environment as a legacy for posterity.
