On 8th November, representatives from the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Bucheon Branch and the Gulpocheon Environmental Management Citizens' Coalition took a commemorative photo

On the morning of the 8th, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Bucheon Branch joined hands with the Gulpocheon Environmental Management Citizens' Coalition at the '2025 Gulpocheon Underwater Purification Activity and Rose of Sharon Garden Tree-Planting Ceremony' at the Gulpocheon Meeting Square in Bucheon City to take the lead in environmental water protection.

On that day, around 30 members of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Bucheon Branch donned rain boots and collected pollutants from the waters of Gulpo Stream, placing them in bags. They also planted Rose of Sharon seedlings. Mugunghwa Garden near Gulpocheon Stream to plant 40 Rose of Sharon trees which, in addition to the 50 trees planted in April, is expected to contribute to air purification and the restoration of the riverside ecosystem.

The Gulpo Stream connects Bucheon and Seoul and is plagued by water pollution and foul odour due to long-term urbanisation and sewage inflow.

Bucheon branch member Chun-sik Byun (65, male, Bucheon) said, “I am proud to think that citizens can enjoy a clean environment in a place where volunteer groups and civic groups have worked together and toiled.”

Meanwhile, in addition to the environmental management activities for Gulpocheon Stream, the main activities of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Bucheon Branch include the 'Green Nature' wetland preservation and environmental purification campaign, the 'More the Better' service for the sharing of companion plants to promote emotional wellbeing, and the 'Pinky Promise' service to promote harmony between people with disability and people without.
