Delivering Peace Message with Unique Performance, Shincheonji's 110,000 Graduation Ceremony
A unique performance art piece that stops people in their tracks was held on a roadside in central Gwangju on 10th November, attracting the attention of citizens.
The performance was given by members of the Shincheonji Gwangju Church for the graduates and believers who could not attend the '110,000 Graduation of Class 115 of Zion Christian Mission Center', held at Shincheonji Cheongju Church on 30th October, due to limited space.
The 'Group' performance of the graduation ceremony, re-enacted ten days later, conveys the need for people of religion to cease their conflict and strife and unite with each other to end wars and achieve peace. Artists from the Shincheonji Gwangju Church, who painted their entire bodies with images of various religious figures, soldiers, and graduates, re-enacted the body painting performance of the graduation ceremony and once again congratulated the graduates who completed the eight-month course at the Zion Christian Mission Centre.
A passerby who saw the artists' performance with their entire bodies painted and standing, said, “I couldn’t help but laugh at the rhythm of the people wearing the puppet masks. It felt good to laugh in the morning.”
The leader of the Peter tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “We will continue to do our best to communicate with citizens and practice the spirit of Jesus’ love and service.”
