Shincheonji Volunteer Group, Daegu Branch, Conducts its Environmental 'Green for Nature' Clean-up Campaign
[Cheonji Ilbo Daegu = Reporter Haein Song] The Daegu branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group (managed by Jabong Shin) set out on the 28th to purify and safeguard the environment through its 'Green for Nature' campaign.
About 40 members of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, from Sangdong to Hope Bridge, responded to frequent complaints by Daegu citizens of the dumping of mass waste in the region.
Citizens who witnessed the clean-up activity said, “These days, even people who work for money don't work so hard. It makes us feel good seeing them diligently volunteering without asking for anything in return.”
On that day, members of Shincheonji Volunteer Group amassed a total of five 75-litre rubbish bags during the river purification effort.
Dong-wook Shin (30, Sangdong), who participated as a volunteer, said, “I feel like my heart has been made well because we've been able to carry out river purification work in good weather.”
Meanwhile, the Daegu branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group will continue to carry out environmental clean-up activities by choosing one location every month.
