How did “Satan” Come To Be According to the Bible? (Shincheonji Church)
📰The Bible is one of the best-selling and most widely distributed books in history, yet it is also considered to be among the least understood. The Bible, which is referred to as the New Covenant and Promise of God, in which 'the way to heaven and salvation' is presented, differs in theologians' interpretations that make it difficult to understand. These differing interpretations have been the cause of the rise of denominations with each one establishing their own doctrine. With the increase in online church services and gatherings resulting from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there has been growing interest in the comparison of various church doctrine. This paper, therefore, attempts to provide readers with the opportunity to compare differing Biblical teachings without interpretation. Among a host of online sermons and Bible-based teachings, the contrasting doctrine between the established Church and Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has drawn public interest throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, is hereby compared and summarised. Best efforts have been made to provide a summary of Shincheonji Church of Jesus' understanding of the Bible. Judgment as to what is right or wrong is left to the reader’s discernment.

In Genesis 3, it is recorded that among all the wild animals the God made, the serpent was the most crafty. The identity of this creature, the serpent, is Satan the Devil. If so, does that mean God made Satan?
No, there is a story here. It is correct to say that God, the Creator of heaven and earth, created animals - snakes included. However, the serpent that deceives Eve in Genesis refers to a person, who is being likened to a snake, a wild animal. This is not a literal snake. The serpent in the garden of Eden is likened to a person in whom the spirit of Satan entered. Since the spirit of Satan entered this person, this person is likened to Satan, the serpent. Then, how did Satan the devil, also described as the serpent or dragon, come to appear?
There are numerous angels in the spiritual kingdom of God organised around the throne. However, there no such entity like the devil exists there. This means that God did not create Satan. If God did not create the devil when he created the spiritual realm, how did the devil come into being? It was because a cataclysm occurred in the spiritual world God had created. An angel who betrayed appeared.
Isaiah chapter 14 records the morning star from heaven. This star was an angel who betrayed, seeking to become higher than all the stars, and was cast down to the earth while opposing the Most High God. This star then became Satan the serpent, devil or evil spirit. Why did this creation betray God and become Satan the Devil?
It was because of greed in wanting to raise himself above his position. In Genesis 3, the serpent and Eve became betrayers because of their desire to want to be like God. Ezekiel chapter 28 records that he was once a guardian cherub in the Garden of Eden, filled with wisdom and created by God as the seal of perfection, who was expelled from the holy mountain of God down to the earth.
Cherubim are angels - the heavenly army that protects God and the kingdom of heaven. In the book of Jude, it is written that these angels abandoned their place of authority and created their own sect - angels who betrayed (2 Peter 2:4).
In Revelation 9, after 200 million betrayed spirits are released, a third of the people are killed.
The serpent, or Satan, has ruled the world for 6000 years. At the time of Noah, sin entered Ham and Canaan; at the time of Moses, Aaron made a golden calf; at the time of Solomon after entering the land of Canaan, Solomon made the people serve foreign gods. The kingdom of God could not be restored. Satan has deceived this world with all kinds of lies.
To save mankind who are slaves to sin and death (Satan), Jesus came 2000 years ago to bear the cross and establish a new covenant with his blood. Revealing Jesus' identity was a trap for Satan the devil.
Looking at the four Gospels written 2000 years ago, Satan, who is the dragon or snake, already knew that he would be captured and imprisoned at the end of 6,000 years. At the time of the first coming, the demons told Jesus that their time had not yet come, and begged him to send them into the herd of pigs, and not the abyss (Matthew 8:28-32).
However, today, at the time of the Lord's Second Coming, it is time to seize the dragon and lock him away in the abyss (Revelation 20:2-3). How is he caught? The appearance of the seven stars and the seven golden lampstands - the seven messengers - who prepare the way for the Lord at the time of the Second Coming, becomes a trap for Satan. The promised pastor chosen by Jesus reveals the identity of Satan the destroyer, and fights and defeats him with the blood of the Lamb and the word of testimony (Revelation 12:11).
The pastor of this promise (promised pastor) receives God's opened scroll in Revelation 10, and the iron sceptre and white stone in Revelation chapters 2 and 3. This promised pastor, expressed as the male child in Revelation 12, fights and overcomes Satan's group of the dragon. From that time on, a new kingdom and new people of God, the 12 tribes of Shincheonji, is established. The world which God created, which has been ruled by Satan the serpent for 6000 years, finally comes to an end in Revelation chapter 20 when Satan is caught and thrown into the abyss. It is a heavenly sword that catches the dragon with 200 doctrinal counter-testimonies witnessed by Shincheonji. This is the spiritual chain.
God is healing all nations through the promised pastor and 12 tribes of Shincheonji. In this way, Satan will come to an end, and the time of God's reign and victory over all things will come.
In summary, in Isaiah 14, Satan is the angel who betrayed and fell because of his pride and greed in wanting to be higher than the other angels and as high as the Most High God.
