“Why is only ‘Shincheonji’ growing?” Press conference in Europe results from Revelation seminar craze

[Cheonji Ilbo = Reporter Hyeji Lim]“Membership among the traditional denominations and churches in Germany is decreasing significantly. On the other hand, Shincheonji Church of Jesus is increasing in membership. Why is Shincheonji growing so rapidly?” (German reporter)
Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church of Jesus), which is subject to heretical controversy in Korea, is attracting significant attention among religious circles outside Korea. Following the press conferences in The Americas and Africa, 46 European journalists and pastors met on the afternoon of the 18th (Korea time) with Man-hee Lee, Chairman of Shincheonji, through ZOOM.
An official from Shincheonji Church of Jesus in Europe said, “The COVID-19 pandemic has brought disease and disaster to the world.”
As to the background of the increasing number of people who, unlike to ordinary churches, are instead flocking to Shincheonji Church, Chairman Lee said, “It is because we are testifying everything as God has shown and revealed it.”
Reporters and pastors asked ▲The perspective of the disillusionment towards religion and misinformation about the Bible (e.g. 666) due to the COVID-19 pandemic ▲The specific time of the sounding of the sixth trumpet in Revelation 13 ▲The identity of the dragon in Revelation. Questions were also put forward regarding the true way to enter heaven.
Regarding the spread of the eschatological teachings, citing the significance of the 666 mark of the beast in the book of Revelation amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Chairman Lee said that we should not confuse believers by making unsubstantiated claims.
He said, “You cannot understand the meaning of a prophecy until its reality appears. The very act of claiming you know it is a sin.” He continued, “It is only when the reality of the prophecy appears that we can testify the meaning of the prophecy.” “In Revelation chapter 13, it is recorded that the beast that comes out of the earth marks the number 666 on the foreheads and hands of the people of the tabernacle of heaven. They were people who had never gone to a seminary, yet were ordained by false pastors likened to the beast; and they raised their hand to acknowledge the false doctrine that was contrary to the Word of God. This is the actual fulfilment of 666.”
In particular, European pastors expressed their surprise that Chairman Lee was presenting evidence without even looking at the Bible. Above all, they were most interested in the fact that the prophecies of the book of Revelation have appeared in reality through people and events.
“I was very impressed that the Chairman testified without even looking at the book of Revelation, because everything is engraved in your mind and heart. His humility proves that God is with him. How do you know the date, month and hour of the fulfilment of Revelation with such precision?” (Samuel Kabo, Pastor of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Alès)
Chairman Lee quoted John 5:17-19 of the New Testament and said, “Jesus witnessed what the Father was doing. The same Jesus will come as a spirit at the Second Coming.” He said, “If the Spirit of Jesus is with you, you will know all things.” He said, “No one who does not know can testify.”
He continued, “In Revelation 1, it says that John recorded the revelation of Jesus, and God said that He sent an angel to John in order to show his servants what must take place soon. God's word cannot be false, because it is perfect.”
Moreover, concerning the question about how to get to heaven, he answered, “Where is heaven?” He pointed out, “It is not correct to say that you can go to heaven without knowing about it.”
He continued, “In John 14, Jesus said that after going to heaven he would come back once a place is prepared, and the ‘Holy City, New Jerusalem’ recorded in Revelation 21 will come to the new heaven and new earth here in this world. God and Heaven are coming to this earth - we are not going up to heaven.”
He said, “I believe that God has given us this opportunity to meet today. I believe that God will bless you. God desires to bless all humanity so much. Let's unite as one in God and in Jesus.”
An official from Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “Chairman Man-hee Lee has said that it is most important we engage with each other, beyond religion and denomination.”
Meanwhile, since last October, Shincheonji Church of Jesus has been holding seminars to proclaim the fulfillment of the book of Revelation and the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven recorded in parables.
Through these seminars, 1,200 pastors worldwide - of whom 30 are from Europe - have expressed their intention to engage with Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
