On 21st August, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Icheon Branch hosted a luncheon for 10 Korean War veterans at the Icheon branch of the Korean War Veterans Association in Gyeonggi Province.

Volunteers prepared and served homemade samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) while spending time with the veterans and listening to their stories. They also provided heatwave prevention kits containing cooling patches, wet wipes and bottled water, along with guidance on preventing heat-related illness.

Volunteer Lee Kyeong-hee said preparing a meal for those who defended the country was “a duty of gratitude.”

A branch official said the event was organised to honour veterans’ sacrifices while supporting their health during the heatwave, adding that the group will continue community programmes for veterans and other vulnerable neighbours.
