Volunteers are checking the health of Korean War veterans at the Pyeongtaek Veterans Hall.

The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Pyeongtaek Branch (Pyeongtaek Branch) held a “Healthy Summer” outreach event for Korean War veterans at the Pyeongtaek Veterans Hall on 16th August, marking the beginning of the summer’s hottest period.

The event was organised to express gratitude to veterans who dedicated themselves to the nation and to help monitor their health during the sweltering summer months.

Professional medical staff, including practising nurses, joined volunteers to provide health checks and support for elderly veterans. The medical team measured blood pressure and blood sugar levels and offered individual health consultations, including advice on staying healthy during the summer. Volunteers also served refreshing watermelon punch and spent time talking with the veterans and checking on their well-being.

One veteran who attended the event said, “It was helpful to have my blood pressure and blood sugar checked and to receive practical advice on managing my health. They also prepared refreshing watermelon punch, which was especially welcome in the hot weather. I feel better prepared to get through the summer.”

A nurse who provided health consultations advised, “During the hot summer months, it is important to stay well hydrated and avoid strenuous outdoor activities. Elderly people with chronic conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes should pay particular attention to their health and have it checked regularly.”

An official from the Pyeongtaek Branch said, “The sacrifice and dedication of Korean War veterans are an important part of our history that must never be forgotten. We will continue to carry out meaningful volunteer activities that express our gratitude and respect for veterans and other national merit recipients.”
