We Are One Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch announced on the 5th December that they held a blood donation closing ceremony, concluding three months of blood donation.

The 'We Are Red Life-Sharing Campaign 2023 Life ON YOUTH ON Blood Donation Closing Ceremony' was held with the attendance of about 20 officials, including the We Are One Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch and the director of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Blood Centre.

A total of 2681 people from the We Are One Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch participated in blood donations from July to October, and the amount raised through blood donations was 15,914,000 Korean won. In particular, We Are One Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch was designated as an excellent example of a blood donation campaign with 2000 people completing blood donation in just one month.

Soon-tak Nam, director of Daegu-Gyeongbuk Blood Centre, said, “I am grateful that the life-sharing campaign went well this year as well as last year. We expect difficulties to continue due to a low birth rate and an ageing population, but we hope to overcome these difficulties through continued collaboration between the Red Cross and We Are One Youth Volunteer Group.”

He continued, “Especially in January and February, when blood supply is difficult,” and “Thanks to you, we are of great help to patients in need in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region.” “We ask that you continue to donate blood in the future,” he said.

An official from the We Are One Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch said, “At this point in time when blood volume is significantly low, it is truly noble for young people in Korea to participate in saving the lives of others by donating blood.” He added, “I think it will serve as an example to many people. We will continue to actively support this expression and practice of love.”
