Ethiopian pastor: “Shincheonji is the only place that gives the word of life”

“The main reason we decided to change the church sign is because Shincheonji Church of Jesus teaches all believers to prepare themselves for the Second Coming of the Lord according to the faith that God acknowledges.”
These are the thoughts expressed by the head of ‘Misgana (Grace) Church’ in Ethiopia, who held a commemorative ceremony by changing the church sign to Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Chairman ManHee Lee, Shincheonji Church of Jesus).
The 'Misgana Church', which changed its church sign on November 26th, has 16 churches in 4 regions of Ethiopia and has a congregation of about 2000. What is noteworthy is that the churches that believe that 'they cannot receive the word of truth from existing denominations' are new denominations that have left their existing denominations and re-established them.
Ethiopia is the second most populous country in Africa. More than 60% of the population believes in Christianity, and most of them live their entire lives in one church or denomination.
In Ethiopia, leaving an established denomination and replacing a church sign requires great determination and courage. The fact that the Misgana denomination, which is already aware of the difficulties, changed its signboard again means that it recognises the revealed word of Shincheonji Church of Jesus as the highest truth.
Shincheonji's Peter Tribe (tribe leader Jeong-woo Lee), which began evangelistic activities in Ethiopia in earnest in June 2019, has been holding photo exhibitions and Bible seminars within each region of Ethiopia since the 100,000 graduation ceremony in 2022. The positive response from pastors and church members who attended the seminars spread to other churches and regions, and so far, MOUs* have been signed with 12 churches and organisations in Ethiopia.
According to an official from the Peter Tribe of Shincheonji, the Misgana Church also signed an MOU in May of this year through a photo exhibition of the 100,000 graduation ceremony and a Bible seminar. After seeing the promotional video for the third 100,000 graduation ceremony held at Daegu Stadium on the 12th November, the Misgana Church requested that their church sign be replaced and each branch church open a Zion Christian Mission Centre.
Asefa Angetto Boreda, president of the Misgana denomination, said, “The starting point was when I requested a seminar on the Bible through the introduction of a pastor I knew who was taking a lecture at the Zion Christian Mission Centre of Shincheonji Church of Jesus.” He added, “The testimony on the prophecy and fulfilment of the Old Testament that I heard at the seminar and the teachings on the mysteries of the New Testament Book of Revelation were vastly different to that of other churches. Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ Bible seminar gave church members a great passion and thirst for the word.”
He continued, “Shincheonji Church of Jesus is the only place that gives the word of life. The change of heart in the life of faith and general demeanour of the existing church members shows this.” He emphasised, “The mission that Jesus gave us is to prepare everyone for the second coming of the Lord, and the teachings of Shincheonji Church of Jesus are the revealed words in this era to fulfil this command.” He emphasised, “We have voluntarily become members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus without any external pressure or coercion.” “We decided to become one and cooperate with the church,” he added.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus' Overseas Evangelism Ministry Director in Ethiopia said, “The replacement of the signboard is the actual reality and clear evidence that God is working to heal all nations. Through the 100,000 graduation ceremony and Bible seminar, many denominations and believers are flocking to Shincheonji Church of Jesus, where God resides,” he said. “We will further promote this third 100,000 graduation ceremony, because now is the time when the Book of Revelation is being completed, and it is a time for revival and new birth.” “We will let Ethiopian pastors and believers know the times we are living in,” he said.
Meanwhile, as of the end of last month, there were a total of 8555 churches in 80 countries that had signed a Bible MOU with Shincheonji Church of Jesus. Already, 1365 churches in 37 countries have changed their signs to Shincheonji Church of Jesus, with a total of 1637 pastors and 86,155 members.
*An MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) enables church congregations to freely receive the teachings of the revealed Word from Shincheonji Church of Jesus through materials and lecturers dispatched by Shincheonji to respective churches and seminaries overseas
