Shincheonji Yangpyeong Church, Philip Tribe, Delivers Rice to Facility for People with Severe Disabilities
On the 14th December, Shincheonji Yangpyeong Church, Philip Tribe, of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony delivered rice to Ciel House, a residential facility for people with severe disabilities.
On that day, Shincheonji Yangpyeong Church delivered 500 kg (50 packets of 10 kg) of rice to Ciel House to enable church members to take the lead in spreading the culture of sharing and volunteerism and to ensure that people with disabilities who use the facilities can enjoy a warm meal.
Ciel (Director Hyeon-sul Kim), a social welfare corporation that operates 'Ciel House', a facility for people with severe disabilities, 'Bodam', a facility for people with psychological difficulties, and 'Yangpyeong Green Dream', a care home for people with disabilities, was established 33 years ago in 1990 for the purpose of promoting the welfare of people with disabilities. Currently, about 120 disabled persons and 80 facility workers are living there.
Director Seon-young Yoo of Ciel House said, “We are deeply grateful to Shincheonji Yangpyeong Church for taking the lead in practising a culture of sharing and giving to help us spend the cold winter warmly,” and added, “We will cherish their precious sharing by providing warm meals to people with disabilities using the facility.”
Jong-hwan Lee, head lecturer at Shincheonji Yangpyeong Church, said, “We're grateful to be able to participate in sharing activities for our neighbours in Yangpyeong,” and added, “We will continue to strive to actively take the lead in social contribution activities for the local community.”
Meanwhile, Shincheonji Yangpyeong Church, along with its members, is actively engaged in volunteer work for flood damage recovery, blood donation campaigns to stabilise blood supply, and environmental clean-up volunteer work throughout the year.
