About 80 young runners gathered in one place at Yeouido Park in Seoul on 25th August at 8pm.

Members of the ‘We Are Run’ Yeongdeungpo Crew, a group of young runners belonging to the Seoul-Gyeonggi Southern Branch of the youth volunteer group We Are One (Director Jung-won Lee), ran along the track in Yeouido Park with bright expressions.

At the 1st 'We Are Run Day' held that day, members of the 'We Are Run' Yeongdeungpo crew participated in the 'Landmark Run: N Seoul Tower Run' held under the theme of the 'landmarks' celebrated nationwide.

On that day, 'We Are Run' Yeongdeungpo members showed their passion for youth sports by running 2.5km (15 people), 5km (55 people), and 10km (10 people) around Yeouido Park.

Young-jae Oh (31), a member of the 'We Are Run' Yeongdeungpo crew who ran 5km, said, “I've been consistently training for the marathon 2-3 times a week since joining the We Are Run crew. The charm of the marathon is that it strengthens my body and mind by challenging me every day. It’s great to be able to feel a sense of belonging while running with the crew. One day, 'We Are Run' will become the number one brand in youth running culture.”

Jung-won Lee, Director of the We Are One Seoul-Gyeonggi Southern Branch, said, “The We Are One Crew is the second project of We Are One, a domestic youth service organisation, and follows the previous group blood donation. It is establishing a running culture to protect the health of young people, while also plogging (jogging while picking up litter).” He added, “We will be at the forefront of a youth culture for healthy living in the future.”

Meanwhile, starting with this event, the 'We Are Run' Yeongdeungpo crew not only participates in major marathons across South Korea, but also holds We Are Run Day once a month, including plogging, which combines environmental protection activities and athletic activities, to serve as an example to society.
