Shincheonji Simon tribe promotes interreligious harmony through Football

Football match between the Simon Tribe of Shincheonji and Eunpyeong Church of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (Unification Church)

The excitement of football, which transcends borders, cultural differences and language barriers, heated up in the Eunpyeong district, Seoul.

The Simon Tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (hereinafter referred to as the Simon Tribe of Shincheonji) and the Eunpyeong Church of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (hereinafter referred to as the Eunpyeong Church of the Unification Church) held a friendly football match at Seonjeon Middle School in Eunpyeong district, Seoul on the 9th September.

This exchange, which incorporated three matches between young adults (under 35) and adults (35 and over), was an expression of love and unity. The third match involved players from both age groups grouping together.

On that day, the Shincheonji Simon tribe team recorded 2 wins and 1 draw: young adults (5:1, win), adults (0:0, draw), and mixed (3:1, win).

An official from the Shincheonji Simon Tribe Sports Department said, “This football match with the Eunpyeong branch of the Unification Church was a good opportunity to get to know each other,” and added, “We plan to play games regularly in the future and strive to promote dialogue and harmony.”
