On 11th January 2022, Cheonji Ilbo (Cheonji Daily) published an article, in Korean, entitled, “'What are the basics of the Bible we need to know?' (Shincheonji Seminar Series: 'Testimony on the Parables of the Secrets of Heaven and Their True Meanings', Lesson 2)''. This is a translation of that report. [Cheonji Ilbo = Reporter Min-hee Kim] Young-cheol Park, lecturer of Peter Tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Chairman Man-hee Lee, hereinafter Shincheonji Church of Jesus) delivered the second lecture of the seminar series 'Testimony on the Parables of the Secrets of Heaven and Their True Meanings', broadcast via their official YouTube channel on the 10th January.

On the 6th, Lecturer Heung-sam Noh of John Tribe lectured on the two kinds of gods (God and Satan) in Lesson 1. This was followed by a seminar on the basic understanding of the Bible in Lesson 2.

In the seminar, Lecturer Park testified ▲The Bible is a book of covenant ▲The Bible is God’s writings ▲The Bible is divided by its content ▲The Bible is a history of war ▲The importance of prophecy and fulfilment ▲Seven eras of Biblical history ▲The process of prophecy and fulfilment ▲8 key points of Biblical knowledge, including its purpose.

According to Lecturer Park, the Bible is a book of promise. However, 2,000 years ago, the Jews did not receive Jesus because they did not know the word of promise (prophecy) written in the Old Testament, even though they were the chosen people with whom God had made a promise. He emphasised, “Today, we Christians must know the promises written in the New Testament and the reality of what is said, and become believers who keep these promises.”

What should we do in order to know the word of promise recorded in the Bible? Lecturer Park said, “The Bible is written by people chosen by God and inspired by the Holy Spirit in every era who carried out the will of God.'' He also explained, “When the time comes and the reality appears, we can understand all the secrets of heaven recorded in parables through the fulfilled reality.”

He continued, “The 66 books of the Bible record a history of war between God and Satan, from the time of Adam when he forsook the covenant and sinned, until the fulfilment of Revelation today. The devil has always lied and persecuted to prevent the word of God from spreading.”

He added, “God always begins by prophesying, and ends by fulfilling that prophecy.” He said, “All the prophecies of the Old Testament were fulfilled one by one, and Jesus is the one who came as their reality. He came to testify to the fulfilment of all the promises.”

Lastly, Lecturer Park said, “The interpretation of prophecy according to one's own thoughts cannot be the standard of understanding the Bible.'' He said, “I hope that all of you will become precious souls who go to heaven by fully understanding the words and fulfilled realities of the parables which contain the secret of heaven.”

From the 6th January to 28th March, Shincheonji Church of Jesus will hold the seminar series 'Seminar Series 'Testimony on the Parables of the Secrets of Heaven and Their True Meanings' over 24 lessons, twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays at 10am.
