Shincheonji Volunteer Group Dongjak Branch Holds 'Beautiful Seniors' Event for Order of Military Merit Recipients Association
“In the current environment where the treatment of military veterans is lacking, we are sincerely grateful for the unexpected love shown to us by the Dongjak branch.”
On the 27th of last month, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Dongjak Branch held a 'Beautiful Seniors Planning Volunteer Service' event for the Order of Military Merit Recipients' Association in Seoul. Byeong-gyu Jeong, the head of the Dongjak branch of the Order of Military Merit Recipients' Association, expressed his gratitude above.
In an ageing society, the 'Beautiful Seniors' programme of Shincheonji Volunteer Group supports a healthy and happy retirement for people in older age under the slogan, ‘One beautiful day is beautiful enough.’ This service goes beyond simple material support and focuses on helping the older population communicate with society and share emotional bonds.
The service on that day was held to express gratitude towards the military veterans who safeguarded the peace of Korea through a range of activities that included serving lunch and taking a spring walk with the military veterans. In the words of an official of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Dongjak branch, military veterans are the “true practitioners of peace.”
