On March 14th 2025, Shincheonji Church of Jesus (Shincheonji) celebrated its 41st anniversary, marking over four decades of dedication to spreading the Word of God.
Founded in the Republic of Korea in 1984 according to the promise of the Book of Revelation, Shincheonji was launched to inform the public of the fulfilment of the Book of Revelation in the New Testament. It has grown tremendously from a few members worshipping in the mountains and fields to holding consecutive 100,000 graduation ceremonies in recent years. It has grown not only in number, but also in its mission to share the true teachings of the Bible worldwide.
To commemorate the 41st year of its founding, the 41st anniversary service was held at the Shincheonji Cheongju Church, Cheongju City. The ceremony was attended by 5000 church congregants and, upon invite, several reporters and neighbouring pastors of Christian denominations. The ceremony featured a historical overview of the church, special videos, and a faith-inspiring message from Chairman ManHee Lee, who emphasised the importance of living according to God’s Word.
In his sermon, Chairman Lee urged everyone to become true believers acknowledged by Heaven as we enter the era when the New Testament Revelation is fulfilled.
The Chairman emphasised, “Jesus, who came as promised in the Old Testament, fulfilled the prophecy and promised the New Testament when he left,” and “Just as the words of Revelation 21 say, ‘It is done,’ the prophecies of Revelation will certainly be fulfilled. Today is the era in which the prophecies of Revelation are being fulfilled.”
He continued, “In this actual era when the Book of Revelation is being fulfilled, we must know not only the prophecy but also the reality.” He continued, “Today, doctors of theology and pastors, as leaders, are unaware of this reality and are only focused on pointing fingers at one another (in Korea).” He continued, “We must not forget the words of Revelation 22, which say that if you add to or subtract from the Book of Revelation, you will not be able to enter heaven and will be cursed.”
He also emphasised to the saints that they must know the Word of God perfectly according to the natural logic of the Bible and become sincere believers in the Word who are “acknowledged by God.”
Presbyterian pastor Kim, who attended the ceremony as an invited speaker, said, “The growth that Shincheonji has achieved in 41 years is amazing,” and added, “I repent for neglecting the words of the Book of Revelation.” He confessed, “I have come to know that if you add or subtract from the Book of Revelation, you cannot go to heaven, and if you master it, you can receive blessings, so from now on, I will study the words from the basics with a new heart.”
In recent years, Shincheonji’s efforts to unite the Church through Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) have been expanding rapidly. As of February 2025, over 13,800 churches across 88 countries have signed agreements for Bible exchange programmes. Additionally, over 1500 churches worldwide have transformed their congregations by adopting Shincheonji’s teachings, furthering the mission of spreading the Word of God.
Beyond spiritual education, Shincheonji continues to make a positive impact on society through various volunteer and humanitarian efforts. The church has been recognised for its record-breaking blood donation drives, including a Guinness World Record in 2022 for over 71,000 blood donation pledges in just 24 hours. These acts of service reflect Shincheonji’s commitment to practicing love, unity, and giving, following the teachings of Jesus Christ.
As Shincheonji enters its 42nd year, the church remains focused on its mission: to spread the revealed Word of God, promote unity among Christians, and be a guiding light for those seeking the truth. With its continued growth, unwavering faith, and commitment to sharing the gospel, Shincheonji stands as a testament to what is possible when believers come together with a common purpose.
