The ‘Monthly Devotional Booklet’ of the Bartholomew Tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus is receiving favourable reviews from many young believers and is becoming a solid foundation for youth revival.

While the number of 'cultural Christians' who do not regularly attend church has risen in recent years, the number of congregants in the 12 tribes of Shincheonji Church of Jesus who teach the Bible has grown, particularly among the youth.

In particular, in the Bartholomew tribe of Shincheonji the number of Bible lecturer applicants currently stands at 2353, attributed in no small part to the influence of the ‘Monthly Devotional Booklet.’

The Monthly Devotional Booklet was first created in June 2014 to provide a way for young people building their faith to easily access the Word of God. To date, 15 volunteers have gathered to publish 76 editions over the last nine years.

Subscriber Jun-yeong Seo (28, male) emphasised that the devotional booklet is bringing about positive changes in the religious lives of young people around him, saying, “Thanks to the devotional (booklet), I have many days where I can calm my mind by recalling the words, ‘God does not judge by results,’ even when I feel discouraged at work.”

The person in charge of publishing the devotional booklet said, “Through the devotional booklet, believers have recovered their self-esteem through the Word, deepened their faith, and experienced positive changes that allowed them to reflect on their hearts.”

Meanwhile, the Bartholomew Tribe is one of the 12 tribes of Shincheonji Church of Jesus. The tribe is located in the western part of the Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Through the Shincheonji Volunteer Group, the tribe also exerts a positive influence on society through a range of volunteer activities. The Bartholomew tribe has five churches domestically and a number of churches overseas, including the Netherlands.
