We Are One Gangneung provides 'great help' to local community through blood donation
About 141 young members of the Gangneung branch of the youth volunteer group We Are One (hereinafter We Are One Gangneung) actively participated in the nationwide 'We Are Red' blood donation campaign at a bloodmobile in front of Gangneung City Public Health Centre on the 17th and 22nd August (99 and 42 donors, respectively) to help alleviate the blood supply with the active cooperation of Gangneung City.
Min-seo Kim, a We Are One member who participated in the blood donation, said, “Even though it was a brief 10 to 15 minutes, it felt rewarding that I could save life by donating 0.4 litres of blood.”
Member Ji-ho Jeong, who adjusted his diet to give blood, said, “I realised that a single blood donation can be a golden opportunity for others. I will continue to donate blood.”
We Are One Gangneung explained that by October 31, more than 400 young people will actively participate in the life-sharing blood donation campaign.
Chun-soo Moon, head of We Are One Gangneung, said, “I was grateful to see the sacrifice of the youths in the heat and felt their sincerity.”
