“The corrupt reality of the existing religious world can be changed by the newly created priests. That is why I newly established the Shincheonji 'Revealed Theology' course within the curriculum of our graduate school, and it is currently being operated. Our goal is to nurture priests who can change the world.”

Pastor A, a professor at a graduate school of theology in South Korea and currently serving as the president of a graduate school in the United States, attended 'The Path Forward for the Korean Church (Part 2)' conference held at the Shincheonji Peace Institute in Cheongpyeong, Gyeonggi Province on the 18th August and engaged in dialogue with Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church of Jesus). These are the words he spoke while clarifying the reasons for signing the MOU.

Inter-church 'Bible-based discussion' is emerging as a new standard within the Christian world. With the goal of growing together with the Korean Church, the MOU agreement, which enables the revealed theology from Shincheonji to be taught to respective church congregations, recently implemented by Shincheonji Church of Jesus is garnering attention not only overseas but also in Korea. Pastors and churches who want to sign an MOU have appeared in large numbers, taking the Christian community by surprise.

In fact, as of the 18th August, 8760 churches in 80 countries have signed MOUs with Shincheonji Church of Jesus. Furthermore, 1263 churches in 33 countries applied to join Shincheonji Church of Jesus and changed their signboards. In addition, 431 domestic and 2442 overseas pastors are learning the revealed theology of Shincheonji, which incorporates the prophecies and fulfilment of the Book of Revelation, through the Zion Christian Mission Center, which is the Shincheonji educational institution. A total of 119,000 students from the Zion Christian Mission Centre have been counted since the beginning of 2023.

In particular, it is unusual for pastors in Korea to sign an MOU with Shincheonji. As a result of conducting a survey of pastors who signed an MOU, more than 90% of the pastors answered that they are experiencing difficulties in their pastoral activities due to the absence of the word. They pointed out that Shincheonji's revealed theology is systematic, and expressed their intention to properly check the teaching through the signing of an MOU and receive personal guidance in fulfilling the word of Revelation.

Pastor A, who testified at the Shincheonji journalist pastors' conference, also revealed that as a pastor who teaches students, he has been thinking about biblical ministry for decades. While serving as a professor in the Department of Theology, he has met with many seminarians. Moreover, he said that this concern deepened as he saw the pure passion of the students who wanted to spread the commandments of Jesus.

Mr. A expressed concern that “Christian ministers must practice the commandments of Jesus and fulfil their mission of preaching the gospel.” He pointed out that church problems, such as the hereditary succession of large churches and the stagnation of small and medium-sized churches, still remain, and that even if many members leave during the pandemic, Korean churches are still buried in maintaining their vested interests.

With the belief that pastors must accurately convey God's will and purpose, he said that he paid attention to the fact that there is no error in the theological process and teachings of Shincheonji Church of Jesus. He said, “I had prejudice and a preconceived notion of Shincheonji being a so-called 'heresy' through the media, but that was not at all the case when I experienced it firsthand. By following the Word for myself, I've come to believe that Shincheonji has the revealed word.”

After hearing the words of Shincheonji Church, his concerns were resolved. “The newly created priests can change the corrupt reality of the existing religious world,” he said.

He said that he even experienced the thrill of learning the revealed theology, “In a report analysing the reality of the Christian world, there is a saying that ‘the church must be re-established and justice must be restored within the nation of Korea. You must fully know the prophecy and fulfilment. If there is any prejudice, I hope one will put it aside, listen and judge for oneself.”
