[Cheonji Ilbo Daejeon = Reporter Ji-hyeon Kim] The harsh four-cycle process of life is that, after birth, we become old, get sick, and die. However, this is not the will of the Bible or God.”

There has been interest in the words of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which produced more than 100,000 graduates last year and has caused a sensation in the dwindling church community both in South Korea and abroad.

On the 13th and 14th, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Chairman Man-hee Lee), Daejeon Church (Head Instructor Bahng-sik Jang) of Matthias Tribe held a seminar on the theme of 'The Secret of Birth, Ageing, Sickness and Death Unravelled in the Bible'.

This seminar was an opportunity for attendees to understand the biblical secret of 'eternal life' and the purpose of the Bible through passionate lectures delivered by Head Instructor Bahng-sik Jang (Matthias Tribe) under the main themes of ▲cause and solution of birth, ageing, sickness and death, and ▲heaven and eternal life.

Bahng-sik Jang, the head instructor, said, “When looking at expressions such as ‘One's spirit is meek' and ‘One's mind is sound', what it means is that the mind dictates everything; so if one's mind is sound, there is nothing that cannot be done.”

He explained, “Ultimately, the essence of a person is not one's body, but one's 'spirit' - it is the spirit that attains eternal life.”

“What God has promised us is eternal life,” he said. “The purpose of the Bible is to give eternal life to those who believe in the name of the Son of God.”

“The Bible says, 'Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.' In other words, we must understand the words of the Bible and act on the words of God.”

He also said, “We read the Bible to gain eternal life, but what the Bible says is that it comes through the Advocate whom Jesus promised to send. Only those who perceive and believe this will receive eternal life.”

Bahng-sik Jang, the tribe leader, said, “The purpose of the Bible is eternal life, and the way to obtain it is to know and believe in the Bible correctly.”

As interest in Shincheonji Church has grown since the COVID-19 pandemic, a citizen who attended the seminar said, “COVID-19 made me think about health and death, and I was also very curious about Shincheonji. After listening to this seminar, a lot of my questions were answered.”

Following the seminar, Shincheonji Daejeon Church took time to explain to those who attended the seminar how they can learn the Bible online and offline, along with an opportunity to resolve any misunderstandings or questions about Shincheonji.
