The Culture of Heaven and Culture of the World
Culture: “The way of life, especially the general customs and beliefs, of a particular group of people at
a particular time”
(Cambridge Dictionary)
Culture - with its customs and
beliefs - were created by man and have gradually evolved throughout human history.
Every country, tribe or people can be said to have their own culture. One usually
begins to acquire an understanding of worldly culture, or knowledge, at school,
which develops throughout secondary school, university and beyond.
Throughout the 6000 years of
Biblical history, culture of the world has always existed from the time after
Adam’s fall to Noah, Abraham, the physical Israelites under Moses, Jesus’ first
coming and Jesus’ promised second coming recorded in Revelation. Before Adam’s fall,
there existed something far more beautiful than this culture of the world: heavenly
culture. God had lived on earth with Adam and all creation before he was deceived
by the (figurative) snake - Satan - who took possession of everything God had created.
Since then, the cultures of the world have evolved tremendously but everything
has become corrupted. We only need to watch the news to know this. Since Adam’s
fall, God has been working to re-create the culture of this world into the
culture of heaven by making covenants with His chosen people. Yet because of
man’s betrayal, this hasn’t happened and the culture of the world has prevailed
throughout.
However, at this time, when the
promises of Revelation are being fulfilled through the final covenant Jesus
made in his blood, the 12 tribes of New Heaven New Earth - Shincheonji - have been
created and a beautiful culture of heaven is growing according to the promises recorded
in Revelation. This culture will prevail over earthly culture because Satan,
who has corrupted everything, will finally be seized and locked up in the Abyss
(Rv 20). To experience it, one must come to the promised 12 tribes of New
Heaven New Earth. This is what it means to be born into God’s image and
likeness.
