The most recent seminar was
delivered on 28th April by the head of the Busan branch of Shincheonji Church, Mr.
Jung-su Kim, concluding a three-day event purposed to teach the true meaning
of the Bible and correct the many misunderstandings about Shincheonji Church.
Some 1000 guests - mainly relatives of existing Shincheonji church members - participated in the topic, “Come and distinguish
truth from lies.”
Mr. Jung-su Kim began by stressing that the church name, ‘Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle
of the Testimony’, is named as such according to the promise of the Bible. Indeed, it is
the promised church in Revelation 15:5 with Jesus - not man - as its
head. Because the church has seen and heard (witnessed) all the events promised in Revelation, it is able to explain them plainly (provide testimony).
The seminar brought to
light the practices of the Christian Council of Korea (CCK) whose pastors have disseminated
false information about Shincheonji Church nationwide through its mouthpiece Christian Broadcasting
Station (CBS), throwing the public into confusion between what is true and false. From 2008-2018, CCK pastors have been convicted of a total of 12,000 crimes for acts including burglary, drink-driving, rape and murder. Moreover, the heinous
coercive conversion programme established and implemented by CCK pastors has caused two deaths. As this article goes out, dozens of believers who do not ascribe to the Presbyterian beliefs of the CCK are receiving such conversion education in remote places in South Korea. Thankfully, news outlets worldwide have publicised global rallies held across dozens of countries in response to the CCK's crimes, and their congregation is leaving in droves and coming to study the Bible in Shincheonji Church.
Through a video, the seminar illustrated the feeble beginnings and growth of Shincheonji Church from just a handful of believers at its establishment in March 1984 to having over 200,000 members worldwide today. Shincheonji Church’s Zion Christian Mission Centers
continue to churn out roughly 2000 graduates a month who, upon completion of an intensive six-month Bibe study programme, become members
of Shincheonji church. Many guests agreed that the seminar helped clear up misunderstandings about Shincheonji Church.
