Shincheonji Volunteers Bring Fiji Day Cheer to Elderly Residents
Thirty-seven volunteers from the Shincheonji Volunteer Group in Fiji visited the Golden Age Home in Lautoka last Saturday, 10th October, to celebrate Fiji Day with elderly residents.
The visit featured singing, action songs, simple massages and compound cleaning, bringing joy and companionship to the residents.
Volunteer Melamy, who travelled from Australia, drew on her experience caring for her elderly parents, stressing the importance of love and companionship through carrying out activities that motivates and warms hearts.
Volunteer representative Rita, from Matawalu Village, urged communities to care for elderly people regardless of race or background.
“Everyone should care for the elderly, as some live with disabilities or visual impairments and need help with daily activities,” she said.
Golden Age Home staff thanked the volunteers for their time and for bringing happiness to the residents.
