“I Fell in Love with the ‘Orderly’ Shincheonji”… Shincheonji Sets an Example in Relay Rallies
“Simply put, I fell in love with the orderly appearance of the Shincheonji gathering.”
This is what a police officer in charge of Shincheonji Church of Jesus' 'Rally to Denounce Religious Persecution' said on the 22nd. This was the fourth such rally in relation to the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization's unilateral cancellation of the 'Shincheonji 110,000 Graduation Ceremony' by order of the Gyeonggi Provincial Governor Dong-yeon Kim. In the last seven days alone, the Shincheonji rallies have been held in an orderly manner in front of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office on four separate occasions.
Police officers in charge of this rally, whose responsibility is to pay the most attention to maintaining order at rallies and demonstrations, said there was no need to worry about keeping order.
Another police officer said, “I was surprised at how orderly the rally was during the last 25,000-person rally (on the 15th)” and added, “They cleaned up so well that there wasn't even a single piece of litter left behind.”
The police officer emphasised, “The weather is cold and it can't be easy for these people. I hope an amicable agreement can be reached.”
On this day, an estimated 1500 people participated in the gathering, and Shincheonji Church of Jesus deployed 40 or so people to maintain order and took every precaution to ensure that no safety issues arose.
Additionally, separate cleaning staff was assigned to thoroughly clean up the gathering site.
A Shincheonji official stressed, “We prioritise safety and order for any event.”
