Christian pastors and leaders of the Islamic, Hindu and Buddhist faiths flock to the Zion Christian Mission Centre, “I resolved all misunderstandings and doubts and properly understood the Word of God”
“If, as pastors, we minister with the Bible every day, yet do not know the words of the Bible, we will not be approved by God.”
These are the words of Sastal Oraon, who has worked as a Pentecostal pastor in India for 20 years, after completing the advanced Bible study course held at the Zion Christian Mission Centre, the free Bible education institute of Shincheonji Church of Jesus that offers comprehensive Bible education based on Jesus' teaching, "Freely you have received; freely give."
Since the first 86 graduates of the Zion Christian Mission Centre in 1991, church membership soared to 1365 graduates in 1998, 11,214 graduates in 2010, 25,099 graduates in 2014, 103,764 graduates in 2019, 106,186 graduates in 2022 and 108,084 graduates in 2023, including a significant number of pastors and seminarians.
The Zion Mission Centre's curriculum consists of:
- Introductory Level: Basic Bible knowledge and understanding of Jesus' parables
- Intermediate Level: Understanding the Bible's structure, God's creation, and re-creation
- Advanced Level: In-depth study of the Book of Revelation, the prophecy and its fulfilment
Shincheonji Church of Jesus's Bible education is proven to be excellent in that it is recognised by people of all faiths and none. Church leaders (pastors, evangelists and ministers) who have led churches for decades have now learned the Word at the Zion Christian Mission Centre, as have believers who previously persecuted their family members or acquaintances for attending Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
Moreover, people of other religions, such as Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism, as well as non-religious people, are coming through the doors of the Zion Christian Mission Centre to study the words of the Bible.
Sang-gyu Park, who was a police officer for 31 years, said, “I had no interest in religion or faith whatsoever, but I had negative and critical feelings toward Shincheonji Church of Jesus, and labelled it a cult.”
He added, “I was a police officer, so what would they do to me?” “As I learned the Word at the Zion Christian Mission Centre,” he continued, “I learned about God who fulfils the promises of the Bible, and my faith grew.”
He emphasised, “I hope people can throw away their prejudice and bias and judge whether the words of the Bible are true.”
Salvatore Sorrentino, who was raised Roman Catholic from birth and diligently carried out a life of faith “searched numerous books and related materials out of curiosity about spiritual matters, but I couldn't find clear answers.” He has now has studied the Word at the Zion Christian Mission Centre in Italy and says, “The decision to take classes at the Zion Christian Mission Centre has been the best decision of my life.”
The statistics are not unimpressive. As of the end of May this year, more than 10,300 domestic (Korea) and foreign religious leaders are taking the course - of whom 1800 have now completed the course - and the approximate total number of students currently studying the Word at the Zion Christian Mission Centre is 110,000 worldwide. The church plans to hold a graduation ceremony for 100,000 students this year as well.
