Chairman ManHee Lee, head of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji), introduces himself as simply a farmer from the countryside whenever he has the opportunity. He has, on numerous occasions, expressed his gratitude that he miraculously survived the bloody Korean War, and that upon being discharged from the army he did not engage in any religious practice other than praying to the heavens every morning and evening. His life as a rural farmer changed completely after encountering a dazzling star (Jesus). He received the command to convey to the whole world what he saw and heard firsthand at the location where the fulfilled realities of the Book of Revelation appeared. As he admits, Chairman ManHee Lee's life was held captive by God and was a one-way path from which there is no escape. Going to the churches of tradition, which boast of prestigious degrees and religious status, and informing them of their reality and calling for them to come to 'Shincheonji' according to the Book of Revelation has posed a threat to his life and to being criticised a 'cult leader'.

It has already been 40 years since people began to gather after hearing the testimony of the fulfilment of the Book of Revelation delivered by Chairman ManHee Lee. Overcoming harsh persecution, Shincheonji held its third 100,000 graduation ceremony this year. We call ‘amazing things accomplished by the power of God’ miracles. Everyone said it was a miracle when they saw the second 100,000 graduation ceremony held in Daegu, where the pain of COVID-19 was deep, in 2022. And Shincheonji, which held the 100,000 graduation ceremony for the third consecutive time this year, showed another miracle. The impeccable operation of the ceremony on the day, ranging from scale to order, safety, and cleanliness, is also being evaluated as truly exhibiting a ‘new heaven.’

When the news of Shincheonji's 100,000 Graduation Ceremony (103,764 people) broke in 2019, the religious media published all kinds of fiction, calling it a 'fabrication'. Then, last year, when the COVID-19 pandemic was coming to its end and another ‘100,000 Graduation Ceremony (106,186 students)’ was held in Daegu, the religious world was in great turmoil. And after the third '100,000 Graduation Ceremony (108,084 students)' held again in just one year, the religious community became quiet again. The established churches that pride themselves on being ‘orthodox’ are declining to the extent that it would not be surprising if they closed down at any time. On the other hand, Shincheonji, which they persecuted as a 'cult', has already held the '100,000 Graduation Ceremony' three times, unprecedented in religious history, proving that it is a 'trend', so those who have persecuted now seem at a loss for words.

Shincheonji is growing rapidly by spreading the ‘true meaning and fulfilled reality of the Book of Revelation,’ which no one knew about for 2000 years. When pastors and believers around the world hear the testimony of the fulfilment of the Book of Revelation preached by Shincheonji, they unanimously say, “It is a revelation received from heaven,” and “The difference between the established theology is like heaven and earth.” Chairman ManHee Lee emphasises that the fulfilment of Revelation is an era of re-creation where a corrupt era will end and a new world will be created. Believers who responded to his call to “get aboard the ark of salvation of the 12 tribes of Shincheonji” are flocking to Shincheonji. The time to end the corrupt religious world and create a new chosen people is now, and the answer lies in Shincheonji, so it is natural that Shincheonji is hated and rejected by the established churches that pride themselves on being 'orthodox.' However, since it is said that the path to heaven is not wide, but the end of a narrow road, it seems that we will have to wait and see what lies at the end of the one-way path that Shincheonji is walking.
