Shincheonji Church of Jesus holds its third ‘100,000 Graduation Ceremony’ today

Zion Christian Mission Centre, a Bible education institution of 'Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church of Jesus)', held the 'Class 113 Graduation Ceremony' at Daegu Stadium in Daegu City on November 20th last year, and the number of graduates that time was '106,186', as exhibited by the model placed in front of the graduates. Among the graduates of Class 113, the proportion of pastors increased significantly compared to other years, with a total of 522 pastors, including 37 domestic and 485 overseas.

Zion Christian Mission Centre, a free Bible education institution of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, will hold the 'Class 114 Graduation Ceremony' from noon to 2:30pm KST today (12th) at Daegu Stadium and Daegu Auxiliary Stadium in Suseong district, Daegu. A total of 108,084 students will graduate on this day, making it the world’s largest graduation by any theological institution.

The event will be held with an opening ceremony in the first part, a commemoration ceremony in the second part, and a graduation ceremony in the third part. The graduation ceremony will be broadcast simultaneously around the world in 13 languages, including Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese, French, Russian, and Spanish, through the official YouTube channel of Shincheonji Church of Jesus.

According to the organisers, as concerns were raised about safety due to the large crowd of 100,000 people, safety was the top priority for this graduation ceremony and measures were taken to prepare for accident prevention, such as maintaining order at the event site, deploying safety management personnel, and emergency medical teams.

There are more than 4,000 people working as guide staff, and the total staff, including safety guards, is 14,000.

To maintain order inside and outside the event venue, 792 safety staff will be deployed to the External Security Department and 2910 to the Internal Security Department. In detail, the guide safety personnel include 832 guides, 1625 instructors, 197 separate guides for each tribe (394 total in 2 shifts), and 185 passage guides for each tribe (370 total in 2 shifts).

In preparation for any unforeseen incidents, the emergency medical team consists of 4 teams with a total of 20 people. The ambulance medical team on standby consists of 4 teams with a total of 8 people. The staff consists of 4 emergency technicians and 4 nurses, with 2 people per team.

There are 24 medical teams of graduates and staff, consisting of 54 specialists (doctors, oriental medicine doctors), 112 nurses, 32 stretcher workers, and 12 other people. The external plaza medical team consists of three teams, three doctors, three oriental medicine doctors, and 18 nurses. The VIP medical team consists of a total of 5 people: 1 doctor, 1 Oriental medicine doctor, and 3 nurses. The transportation medical team is divided into 3 teams with 12 people (3 doctors and 9 nurses), and the outskirts medical team is divided into 3 teams with a total of 14 people. The staff is divided into the outer bus medical team (2 Oriental medicine doctors, 6 nurses) and the outer booth medical team (1 doctor, 1 Oriental medicine doctor, and 4 nurses).

The medical booth is operated by a total of 32 medical teams, with a total medical staff of about 258 (60 doctors and oriental medicine doctors, 121 nurses, 9 emergency technicians, and 55 others), and a response manual is prepared in the event of an emergency patient. Four emergency medical teams will continuously tour the event site, and the staff consists of 4 specialists, 1 trainee, 2 emergency medical technicians, 1 emergency nurse, 1 nurse, and 8 stretcher personnel. Additionally, 4 ambulances (4 paramedics and 4 nurses) are on standby.

The organiser explained, "Continuing from last year, we have been preparing this year with a 'safe graduation ceremony' as our top priority. Since we have already held two 100,000 graduation ceremonies, we will create an orderly and safe graduation ceremony based on sufficient know-how and extensive data."

Daegu police will take measures such as operating a joint situation room, deploying three companies of riot police, and deploying about 250 police officers, including traffic police officers, to the scene. In addition, general drivers guides to take detours in advance through traffic management, advance publicity using traffic broadcasts and electronic display boards, and provision of real-time traffic information until vehicles gather and disperse. Safety management of gatherings is also carried out in parallel.

After the event, a total of 848 people from the Environmental Management Department will be deployed to provide environmental clean-up services.

Previously, Shincheonji Church of Jesus produced a total of 103,764 graduates in 2019 and a total of 106,186 graduates last year despite the negative news of COVID-19. Unlike the religious world, where the number of church members is rapidly decreasing, the number of members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus currently exceeds 310,000.
