Shincheonji Wonju Church, 'Live ON' blood donation campaign (April 19, 2022)
✦ More than 200 Wonju church members participate over 3 days, from the 18th April
[Cheonji Ilbo Wonju = Reporter Hyun-bok Lee] Shincheonji Wonju Church is participating in their 'Live ON' blood donation campaign to alleviate the blood supply crisis in Korea, caused by the prolonged novel coronavirus infection (Covid-19).
This blood donation campaign has secured the participation of every church of the 12 tribes of Shincheonji in Korea, and about 200 members of Shincheonji Wonju Church are now participating.
The Wonju Church 'Live ON' blood donation campaign will be held for three days from the 18th to the 20th April at blood donation sites in Wonju Public Health Center, Sangji University, Wonju Taejang Sports Complex Baseball Park, and Shincheonji Church of Jesus' Taejang Church, where bloodmobiles have been assigned.
Meanwhile, according to the Blood Management Headquarters of the Korean Red Cross, as of the 13th April, the amount of blood reserves stood at 3.4 days, which was less than the required amount for 5 days, which is necessary in order to ensure stable medical activity.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus is conducting a nationwide group blood donation campaign centred on the headquarters of the General Assembly and the workers of duty and congregation of the 12 tribes. The goal is to secure blood from a total of 6,000 donors by selecting eligible blood donors among church members. This target will greatly exceed the current 5,400 patient-per-day blood demand, and it is expected that the campaign will be able to fill the required 5-day blood reserve.
