Members of Shincheonji Volunteer Group (SVG), who belong to Shincheonji church, have continued to serve the local community through its 'Wall Painting Stories with Hope' initiative, which is one of many carried out throughout South Korea. This particular SVG initiative forms part of an annual urban regeneration programme which restores dilapidated murals into newly created ones through various paint and design work. Since 2008, some 30,000 SVG volunteers have painted nearly 400km of murals throughout South Korea.

In the above photo, the Wonju branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group held its seven-day wall-painting campaign which expressed their desire for peaceful unification of the Korean peninsula under the theme ‘Peace’, drawing on the support of Child and Youth Support Group, Vietnam War Veterans’ Association and Korean War Veterans’ Association.
