Shincheonji Church's Bible Study Programme Clocks In A Record 300% Growth in 2019 vs. 2018
2019 has experienced a record number
of people registering for Bible education worldwide at the Zion Christian Mission Centers
of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony
(here on ’Shincheonji church’). Roughly 30,000 students have now completed, or are still studying, the intensive six-month Bible study programme with a
record 150,000 people awaiting registration for Bible study this year worldwide. In fact, registration for the period January-May 2019 represented a 300% increase on the same period in
2018. This is in stark
contrast to the decreasing membership of the established church in the Republic of Korea.
The Zion Christian Mission Center is Shincheonji church’s Bible-teaching institute which freely teaches the Bible in 300 locations worldwide. Upon completion of a six-month intensive Bible study programme, a 300-question exam is taken to consolidate one’s understanding of the Bible. One then joins Shincheonji church.
The reasons for such explosive interest are numerous. Firstly, many religious and secular media agencies both in South Korea and abroad have exposed the lies of the established church - particularly the Christian Council of Korea (CCK) and its mouthpiece, Christian Broadcasting System (CBS) - made against Shincheonji church. This has allayed the unfounded suspicions of people who want to understand the Bible. This helped draw in a staggering 50,000 people into Shincheonji church’s nationwide 'Open Bible Seminar'; most of whom registered for further study at the six-month Zion Christian Mission Center programme.

What is interesting to note is that, although the majority of current believers in Shincheonji church were previously Christian, many of today’s students - particularly within South Korea - are either of different or of no faith. One prior atheist, Mr. Kim Jung-hoon (35), who attended the Open Bible Seminar, said, "I joined the Zion
Christian Mission Center after taking part in the seminar hosted by Shincheonji
church where I heard clear Biblically-based teachings about religion for the
first time. I’ve recommended it to others around me.”
The exponential growth of the first half of 2019 is forecast to lead to a steeper curve in the second half. To meet growing demand, online lectures have been made available since May 2019, as well as small-group seminars which have drawn the attention of many Christians. In the words of a congregation member of Shincheonji church: "The Zion Christian Mission Centers have produced between 20,000 and 30,000 students per year, but the current trend is expected to reach 100,000 this year. This is possible because Shincheonji church has been focusing on creating 'Bible-centred believers’ for the last thirty years." Indeed, Shincheonji church teaches only from the Bible - the word of God - without any of man's commentaries.
Dramatic increase of Zion Mission Center, 5 times more than
last year
