📰The Bible is one of the best-selling and most widely distributed books in history, yet it is also considered to be among the least understood. The Bible, which is referred to as the New Covenant and Promise of God, in which 'the way to heaven and salvation' is presented, differs in theologians' interpretations that make it difficult to understand. These differing interpretations have been the cause of the rise of denominations with each one establishing their own doctrine. With the increase in online church services and gatherings resulting from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there has been growing interest in the comparison of various church doctrine. This paper, therefore, attempts to provide readers with the opportunity to compare differing Biblical teachings without interpretation. Among a host of online sermons and Bible-based teachings, the contrasting doctrine between the established Church and Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has drawn public interest throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, is hereby compared and summarised. Best efforts have been made to provide a summary of Shincheonji Church of Jesus' understanding of the Bible. Judgment as to what is right or wrong is left to the reader’s discernment.
It is recorded in Matthew 13:34-35 that the secrets hidden since the creation of the world would be spoken in a parable. In John 16:25, it was said that the meaning of this parable would be explained plainly at the appointed time. That time is the day when the prophecy of the New Testament Revelation is fulfilled, and the reality is testified by the promised pastor who saw and heard the fulfilled reality. There is a hidden secret recorded, in a parable, within the Genesis account of the Garden of Eden. If interpreted literally, one will misunderstand the Bible and distort the will of God and Jesus.
The serpent that deceived Eve can be found in Revelation 12:9 and Revelation 20:2. The ancient serpent in Adam's time was Satan, the devil, and the dragon. They all represent one entity. Reading that the serpent is one of God's wild animals, we learn that the serpent is a creature of God. Looking at the content recorded in Isaiah 14:12-15, we learn that God did not create Satan from the beginning; on the contrary, this serpent, or Satan, was originally an angel created by God. However, this angel became corrupt with greed and pride, thereby becoming Satan.
The serpent, Satan, who deceived Eve roughly 6,000 years ago, later controlled the teachers of the law and Pharisees at the time of the first coming, and entered Judas Iscariot to carry out his work. Jesus called the teachers of the law and Pharisees that Satan entered 'snakes' and 'brood of vipers'. But they weren't literal real snakes - they were people. The Pharisees and teachers of the law, in whom the spirit of Satan entered, deceived the people of God and themselves misunderstood the Word through the devil's lies and their arbitrary teachings, which was the poison of vipers that killed one's spirit. This is no different from the appearance of a snake that kills other life forms with its poison. So Jesus likened them to serpents. Deuteronomy 32:32–33 records that their wine is the venom of serpents and the deadly poison of cobras.
What would the reality of the serpent be today at the time of Revelation's fulfilment? In Revelation 1, the seven messengers of the seven stars, the seven golden lampstands appear to prepare the way for the Lord. However, they betray, as recorded in Revelation chapters 2 and 3.
As a result, in Revelation 13, a beast with 7 heads and 10 horns, who was given authority by the dragon Satan, comes out of the sea and enters heaven's tabernacle, capturing and destroying the chosen people. In the 17th chapter of Revelation, these 7 heads are described as 7 hills (mountains) and 7 kings. The seven mountains refer to a church, which is an organisation of people formed out of the dust of the earth, and the seven kings refer to pastors who rule over these chosen people, and the seven heads of the beasts also refer to seven pastors. Moreover, these false pastors from Babylon are judged in Revelation chapter 18. Therefore, at the time of the fulfilment of Revelation, the reality of the serpent is a group of pastors belonging to seven denominations of Babylon, which is the kingdom of Satan recorded in Revelation chapters 13, 17 and 18, together with the false pastors and evangelists who belong to them.
In summary, the serpent in Genesis 3 is a false pastor in whom the spirit of Satan dwells.
The snakes at that time were different from the snakes of today. At present, snakes move disgustingly (slithering in and out of boats). But the snakes of old may have had feet. They were much more cunning than today's snakes. Among the wild animals, the snake was very cunning and beautiful. That is why Eve must have liked and loved snakes among all these wild animals. The snake was originally beautiful, cunning and charming."
