'Children’s Day' in Korea is an important holiday. On this day, South Korea celebrates its most loved inhabitants: its children. As parents in Korea often don’t have much time to see their children due to overtime or working on the weekend, many families make an extra effort to do something special on Children’s Day.

To celebrate
Children's Day, Shincheonji Daejeon Church (Matthias Tribe) held a 'Family Love Spring Day' event with children and parents in Okcheon City on the 4th May.

Over 800 people from the youth and student groups, as well as parents and relatives spent time together. Families who were addicted to smartphones had time to unite in the green space for a long time. The event also featured various hands-on activities, food booths, a flea market, and even games such as throwing water balloons, bringing laughter everywhere. Parents could return to the joy of childhood together with their children.

A father who attended that day said, “I didn’t know much about how my children were doing because I was so tired of life, but today I was able to bond with my children by talking to them and watching them play.”

Bang-sik Jang, the tribe leader, said, “We hope that family love will become more abundant through this time.”
