Shincheonji Church celebrates ‘Constitution Day’ on 17th July in Ulsan, South Korea
Shincheonji Church celebrated ‘Constitution
Day’ in the serene surroundings of Seonam Lake Park on 17th July 2019 in Ulsan.
17th July is a day when the South Korean constitution was proclaimed (1948). The
Ulsan branch of Shincheonji Church celebrated the 71st anniversary of Constitution
Day by educating citizens on the meaning of ‘Taegukgi’ (Korean national flag).
Taegukgi is comprised of three
parts: a white rectangular background, a red and blue Taeguk (flag) in its centre,
and four black trigrams on each corner. Citizens were not only informed about Korea’s
history but also Taegukgi’s symbolic representations of heaven, earth and water.
Many citizens were unaware of this fact.
One parent said, "We must
tell this fact not only to us but also to our students. With what we have
learned, we will inform our children. Thank you." An official of Shincheonji
Church, Ulsan branch, said, "I am glad to see that Ulsan citizens
understand the fact they did not know Taegeukgi when they heard the
explanation, and I am thankful that they appreciated it."
