Shincheonji church: 300,000 congregation members by the end of 2019 and 500,000 by the end of 2020
As the number of Christians in
the traditional church in Korea declines,
the number of congregation members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, The
Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (hereon 'Shincheonji church') is
rising sharply.
From 120 people at its establishment
in March 1984, Shincheonji church now has 260,000 congregation members worldwide
and will surpass 300,000 by the end of 2019 with an expected figure of 500,000
by the end of 2020. The reason is simple: Shincheonji church is the promised
church recorded in the New Testament, specifically within the Book of
Revelation.
The nationwide Open Bible series
seminar, which was attended by 50,000 people of all faiths and none in the Republic
of Korea, was held address the misunderstandings people have about Shincheonji
church, teaching the true meaning of life, death and
pain through an overview of the Bible and, specifically, the book of
Revelation. At the Open Bible Seminar held in Seoul, head lecturer
Lee Jungsu of Seodaemun Church, Seoul (Simon Tribe), said, “the secret to the rapid growth of Shincheonji church is that it's the
place built according to the promise of the Bible. The name of the kingdom is
promised by God; the master of all things (New Heaven and Earth). It is not a
place which humans have studied and built."
Indeed, Shincheonji translates into
‘New Heaven New Earth’ (Rv 21), and is also named ‘The Temple of the Tabernacle
of the Testimony’ because it has witnessed the reality of the events promised in
Revelation. Because God’s promises recorded in Revelation are being fulfilled
here, it is no exaggeration to say that God is with Shincheonji church.
