“I've been unwell as of late, but after receiving a foot massage, my blood circulation seems to have improved, and I've acquired beneficial exercises to prevent dementia. Please, let's have this kind of experience often!”

These are the words of Ui-seok Jeong (85, Seoul), who participated in the 'Beautiful Seniors' event held at the Byucksan Apartment Senior Centre in Seoul on the 23rd July.

The activity forms part of the 'Beautiful Seniors' programme, which supports a healthy and happy retirement for people in older age under the slogan, ‘One beautiful day is beautiful enough.’

Three nurses and one masseuse from the Dongdaemun branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group operated various experiential booths which provided blood pressure and blood sugar measurement, diabetes management guidance, health exercises to prevent the onset of dementia, foot massages, and more. Participants engaged in the health exercises for dementia prevention with deep laughter, accompanied by spirited music.

A volunteer from the Dongdaemun branch said, “My heart was glad to see the participants content and at peace.”

Meanwhile, Shincheonji Volunteer Group was founded by Shincheonji Church of Jesus in the Republic of Korea. The purpose of the Volunteer Group is to break down the barriers of conflict found within class, gender, religion, and politics, and unite hearts and minds by putting the teachings received from heaven into practice for the growth and development of local communities throughout South Korea.
