Exhibition - 'A Gift from Heaven': Shincheonji Church of Jesus
An exhibition entitled ‘A Gift of Heaven' was organised by Peter tribe’s Gwangju branch of Shincheonji Church of Jesus (hereon ‘Shincheonji Church’) in the first week of May 2019. It was held to explore the meaning of life by examining life’s fundamental problems and providing solutions. The exhibition did this by exploring the Biblical themes of creation, religion, prophecy and fulfilment, and secrets of heaven, as well as how to live a purpose-driven life and addressing the misunderstandings about Shincheonji Church.
One guest, Mr.
Sun-hee Lee, who visited with his parents, said, "I liked the variety of activities I saw. I always had a lot of
prejudices about Shincheonji but I think these thoughts have changed a little."
A Shincheonji Church representative from Peter tribe said, “Peter tribe, which began with a handful of people in a harsh climate, now has more than 40,000 members.” He continued, saying: “The reason why so many people come every year is because they are putting Jesus’ teachings into practice as the light and salt of the world and teaching the Bible in its entirety. The exhibition
also displayed works of art such as 'The Pleasure of Honey' which depicts a
painting of a candle being quickly extinguished by the wind, illustrating how
fleeting the pleasures of life can be. Shincheonji Church’s Public Relations
Center provided children’s activities, a food zone serving a variety of foods,
and various arts and culture performances.
The exhibition
will remain open until the end of the month with lectures scheduled at 10:30am
and 8pm daily for all to attend. An estimated 6000 residents are expected to
walk through its doors this month.
