"I was living alone and had no particular interests, so the days were really long. But after you gave me some pretty flowers, I developed an interest in cultivating them. I'm still growing these flowers that the Shincheonji Volunteer Group gave me two years ago."
On the 18th October, the Gyeyang branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group held a companion plant-sharing event for members of the Incheon Traffic Safety Association for Persons with Disabilities in Gyeyang City, Republic of Korea. Sun-hee Sim (83, female), a member of the Incheon Traffic Safety Association for Persons with Disabilities, expressed the above.
On this day, about 20 association members were presented with flower varieties suitable for October, as well as guidance on how to properly care for each plant.
Meanwhile, the activity was carried out as part of the 'More the Better' programme of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, a programme whereby volunteers deliver homegrown companion plants to neighbours to enhance their emotional wellbeing.
