“Discarded socks are major environmental pollutants. Therefore, seeing them being used so well seems like a good way to reduce waste.”
This is the opinion of Seong-ja Kim (62, female), who received a flowerpot made from discarded socks.
Shincheonji Volunteer Group Guri-Namyangju Branch conducted its first regular volunteer activity, ‘Green Nature’, near Guri Station on the 21st January to welcome the new year.
Around 10 members of the Guri-Namyangju Branch launched a carbon neutral campaign and introduced the environmental '4Rs movement (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Refuse)' for waste reduction and resource conservation.
Volunteer Young-ran Lee said, “It seems that our lifestyles, which are accustomed to fast and convenient living, have made the Earth sick,” and added, “I hope that citizens will separate their waste well and pay attention to recycling to reduce waste.”
Meanwhile, this activity is part of Shincheonji Volunteer Group's regular 'Green Nature' campaign, which aims to preserve a beautiful and clean natural environment for posterity.
