Shincheonji Bible Seminar in Busan Stirs Strong Winds of Religious Reform

Shincheonji Church of Jesus is leading a religious reformation through a series of nationwide seminars held on the 'Testimony on the Fulfillment of Revelation' in South Korea. In view of growing secularisation trends, among other factors, which has resulted in the decline of Christianity in many parts of the world, including Europe where churches are being replaced by bars, clubs and restaurants, the seminar series offers a beacon of hope.

The most recent seminar held in Shincheonji Busan Church on Sunday, 29th September, drew over 70,000 attendees, including around 100 pastors, demonstrating the strong enthusiasm for the revealed word. The temple was filled to the brim with no room to stand, not even outside the temple.

On that day, Chairman Lee, who is over 90 years of age, took to the pulpit and testified the Word of God with conviction, centred on the Book of Revelation, preaching powerfully for about an hour.

Chairman Lee underlined the importance of possessing a Bible-centred faith, understanding the true meaning of the Word and being created according to it. He said, “Faith must be in accordance with the Bible,” and, “We need to understand the true meaning of the word and be created according to that word.”

Chairman Lee testified about the prophecies and fulfilment of the entire Book of Revelation that he has seen and heard firsthand, that is, the ‘revealed word.’ Chairman Lee said, “The testimony is what serves as clear evidence to verify whether this word is correct. We must examine whether the prophecies have actually been fulfilled.” Chairman Lee added, “It is recorded that the Book of Revelation will certainly be fulfilled at the appointed time. Therefore, I need to consider whether I can enter the promised salvation at the time when this prophecy is fulfilled.”

Chairman Lee spoke boldly to the pastors in attendance - some of whom are quick to label the teachings of Shincheonji Church of Jesus as heretical without giving ear to it - saying, “A person who judges others as heretics just because they do not belong to the same group, without even knowing the words of the Bible themselves, cannot be considered a true believer.” With reference to the past, Chairman Lee added, “Those who persecuted Jesus at the time of His first coming did so because they did not know the Bible.”

Chairman Lee then urged the pastors, “If you want to know the teachings of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, I will send them to you one by one each month. We are all united in God and the Bible, and we must come together more.” He emphasised unity among believers, saying, “We are believers in God, Jesus, and the Scriptures. Spiritually, we are one family, so let us love one another. I really hope we can do so.”

Pastors responded positively to the testimony of Chairman Lee, saying, “I wish to quickly share the inspiration I’ve received with my fellow pastors,” and, “Every time I heard the word being preached, I felt deeply moved.” Pastor Choi saidHearing the revealed word firsthand has sparked a greater desire to learn.

A representative of Shincheonji Church of Jesus stated, “We believe this seminar has opened up opportunities for fellowship among pastors. If we engage in dialogue and unite based on the Bible, it will positively impact not only the religious community but also society at large.”

A livestream of the seminar via YouTube recorded over 73,300 views.

Meanwhile, Shincheonji Church of Jesus is preparing its fourth 100,000 graduation ceremony by the end of this year. Numerous pastors worldwide are now urging fellow pastors to learn the 'Word of Revelation' to revive their stagnant churches.
