To mitigate heat-related illnesses amid impending heatwaves that would scorch a large part of South Korea this year, the Daegu branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group conducted a "Heat-Related Illness Prevention Campaign" from the 22nd to the 24th June.

25 volunteers from the Daegu Branch handed out more than 700 bottles of frozen water, salt candies (for hydration), and eco-friendly scrubbers and detergent - along with a message of carbon reduction - to passersby near Seobujeong Station.

As they were distributing the goods, volunteers such as Nam-hee Choi (32, Daegu), urged passersby to stay healthy, saying, “Stay healthy with salt candies even in this intense heat and minimise carbon emissions by using eco-friendly products, which are a cause of extreme weather.”

Meanwhile, throughout the summer of 2025, the Daegu branch continued its heatwave response campaign, distributing approximately 1000 frozen water candies to citizens.
