Shincheonji to the World, The World to Shincheonji!

On November 10th 2019 12:00 (UTC +9), 103,764 students from 113 nationalities will take part in a huge graduation ceremony in the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and become members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus. It is unprecedented for any church or religious institution to grow by such a number within one year and represents the largest graduation of any single denomination ever. It marks a historical triumph for the study of theology in an era when, according to the Association of Theology (ATS), seminary enrolment has been on the decline in the last decade.

Indeed, Shincheonji Church of Jesus is booming in number while Christianity both in South Korea and globally is on the decline. From 2008-2019, its membership has grown from 59,055-236,017, representing 400% growth. Shincheonji Church of Jesus has three unique characteristics:-

1) Promised Pastor
The book of Revelation, which is a book of promise recorded 2000 years ago about future events that must take place, has been shown to one person who is the messenger sent on Jesus’ behalf to make known to the churches everything he has seen and heard at the location of the events (see Revelation 22:8, 16). This person received the opened book in Revelation 10 and is freely making it known to all people. As the chairman of Shincheonji Church of Jesus and the promised pastor, Chairman Lee is also a peace advocate uniting religious leaders throughout the world for the cessation of wars and achievement of peace. Roughly 80% of today’s wars and conflicts are caused by religion.

At Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ recent ‘Open Bible Seminar: The Second Coming and Harvest’ that drew in an attendance of 45,000 people across six cities from October 4th-November 2nd, Chairman Lee woke participants to the reality of today’s era, saying:-
“We must believe in the Bible, not in the words of men. We must believe in and verify the word of God for ourselves. One must check whether one is truly saved and whether there is a place one must go to find salvation.”

“In the book of Revelation, the first heaven and first earth (traditional churches) pass away and those born of God's seed are harvested out of there to create the new heaven and new earth (new kingdom and new people) where God will come. God's purpose is to create a new kingdom and new people born of His seed."

“I am the messenger sent by Jesus who has seen, heard and am testifying Revelation. I ate the opened book in Revelation 10 to preach it, in the same way that Jesus ate the opened scroll of Ezekiel 3 to testify to the rebellious people."

2) Promised Temple
Shincheonji Church of Jesus is promised to appear in the Bible; specifically within the book of Revelation. The book of Revelation contains the promise of a ‘New Heaven New Earth’. 'Shincheonji' ('Shin-cheon-shin-ji’ in full) translates as 'New Heaven New Earth'; a new kingdom and people born of God’s seed (word) where God will end all death, mourning, crying and pain (see Revelation 21:3-4). Its name is in Korean because the promised events recorded in Revelation have been fulfilled in South Korea. It is also called 'The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony' because it is from this Temple (church) that the 'testimony' of the fulfilment, or reality, of Revelation has been made known through the promised pastor who has heard and seen these events.

Moreover, Shincheonji Church of Jesus is transparent in the way it spends its money, with the majority of contributions going towards the work of evangelism so that as many people as possible can freely receive this true word of the Bible. Its volunteer wing, Shincheonji Volunteer Group, has over 200,000 volunteers serving communities through a range of projects, campaigns and initiatives focused on environmental conservation, blood donation, provision of medical aid, war veterans' support, elderly care and public service. it has an average service attendance of 99.1%.

3)Promised kingdom
Shincheonji Church of Jesus is also the promised kingdom comprised of people born of the seed (word) of God. Through an intensive six-month Bible study course at one of its 300+ Zion Christian Mission Centers worldwide, one can study the Bible in-depth from Genesis to Revelation, studying the correct way to read the Bible, Biblical history, the secret of Revelation and Genesis including the realities of the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the promise believers are expected to keep today, God's will for our individual lives and for the world at large, the solution to birth, ageing, sickness and death, and God’s ultimate plan to end sin and create paradise on the earth. God has revealed His will to Shincheonji Church of Jesus through the logic of prophecy and fulfilment; all the promises recorded in the New Testament - not only in Revelation - are being fulfilled today.

Upon completing the Bible study course, one takes a 400-question exam to demonstrate mastery of the word, and upon scoring over 90%, graduates into Shincheonji Church of Jesus. The Biblical knowledge acquired surpasses that of any seminary or theological institution anywhere. Everything is taught through the Bible alone, without any of man’s commentaries. 200,000 students are currently enrolled on their theology programme.

The 100,000 Graduation ceremony is also significant for another reason. It marks the downfall of the corrupt Christian Council of Korea (CCK); an organisation of Korean churches founded on the Presbyterian doctrine in 1989 which has established a morally bankrupt ‘coercive conversion’ programme that has robbed two young women of their lives and continues to separate thousands of families in Korea. Through deceiving families into believing that their loved one has joined a cult, victims are confined in secluded locations where they subjected to physical and psychological abuse until they renounce their beliefs and consent to receiving Presbyterian ‘conversion education’. As equally shocking is that, over the last ten years, CCK-affiliated pastors have received 12,000 sentences for crimes including fraud, burglary, forgery, defamation, drink-driving, arson and sexual assault. This is the shocking reality of Christianity in Korea today.

Nevertheless, the truth will prevail. Following the nationwide Open Bible Seminar - attended in person by 30,000 people and for which 45,000 people registered their interest - Shincheonji Church of Jesus set up online booths for those unable to study offline. 5000 of the 30,000 participants have registered.

Following tomorrow’s Class 110 Zion Christian Mission Center graduation, Shincheonji Church of Jesus is expected to continue to grow exponentially and, if it maintains this pace, is expected to exceed one million members within the next three years.
